Sept 3rd thru 6th
Mardi Gras and Labor Day at White Thorn Lodge

The Mardi Gras / Labor Day weekend started Friday evening on the patio with a cheese and BYOB party. White Thorn Lodge provided the cheese and you brought your choice of beverages.

The cool weather caused a few of the Saturday afternoon events, like the body painting and parade to be canceled . However the Cajun pot luck dinner and Mardi Gras dance featuring Guys Without Ties warmed us up. A lot of people got into the Mardi Gras theme and wore really great costumes to the dance that evening. We had a hard time deciding who was the best dressed. Some of the costumes were funny, some sexy, but they were all great! In the Mens division Eric took first place, Staci took first place in the Ladies division dressed as The Devil With the Blue Dress On. The first place couple went to West Penn Naturist Bob and Nancy. Congratulations and thanks you to all that participated.

Sunday was a good day to play volleyball of just relax and save your strength for The Night at the Races Saturday evening in the club house. Everyone had a good time cheering for their horses. The lucky winners had a better time counting their winnings. Thank you to Jeff and Mary for all the hard work you put into making the night a big success.

Monday after the flag raising it was time for the Volley Ball Fun Bowl. Over seventy players of all skill levels competed for the title. Team Two with Linda of Ben, Farmer Rick, Gary, Bruce of WPN, Mike from Sun Sport, a visitor Jackie and Uncle Al, took first place. Everyone had a great time playing and honing their skills for the Volley Ball Super Bowl.

With all the volleyball being played White Thorn Lodge we should have a good team for the Super Bowl of Volleyball. If you do not have a team but would like to play come out and sign up for a team.
